A column belongs to the language of the structure. Its presence refers to the skydomes of the Sciences faculty building (project on the next page). This totem creates an extension with skylights. The totem allows to bring indirect light - diffuse and uniform - to light up the ceiling. But also allows a more directional light, which can light up reading space, work place or catering areas, who need more intense light.  The use of aluminium on the top creates a frame of light. The oak for its distinguished character, concrete for the stability and the gravity.
